As Production Designer of this film, I designed and built the underwater cave set, acquired set dressing for every scene, created or sourced all props, and applied prosthetics and makeup for the main character.
In the spirit of environmental activism, I am most proud of how little waste was created with this set. A local business upcycled the rock wall facade, the wooden flat frames are being reused, and all prop trash was recycled or disposed of accordingly. While on location, we left the lake much cleaner than when we arrived, picking up refuse deep into the brush and using it as additional set dressing while shooting.
I added more skills to my bag by learning about Special FX. In addition to making the concept art for our monster, I learned how to sculpt a prosthetic, make a plaster of Paris mold, and cast duplicate latex applications. I used liquid latex to create gills and blended in the edges with scar wax, more liquid latex, and a cream makeup palette.
